Hidden Meaning of Wearing a Choker

I love chokers, but what I found on the internet shocks me! Did you know that wearing a choker has a sexual meaning to it? I am a grown woman and happily married, but openly talking about sex is a sensitive topic that I never discuss to anyone or rather avoid to address. However, these interesting information I found online is worth sharing to any ladies who are not aware of the meaning of wearing a choker to the opposite sex. The Internet provides all kinds of information to the public. Although, I do believe not everything I read or see online is real. I still find some articles and information I find online worth sharing to anyone.

Therefore, before I create an uproar here on my blog about human rights and feminism; I just want to inform you this is just what I found online. Which I decided to share with you all, and I am open for discussion to this rather interesting topic; If you wish to do that! Anyways, back to the article, I found; the author mentioned when a boy sees a woman wearing a choker they are considered a slut! As chokers look more like a collar that you put on your pet. Also, collar symbolizes submission or kinky things your mommy prohibit you not to do! Although, it is just a joke among boys; this joke is insulting for any woman that loves to wear chokers just like me. The author of this article and I share the same sentiment about using a choker. We should not worry what the opposite sex thinks about us wearing a choker. Or whatever joke they have about chokers, this should not hinder us ladies from wearing our favorite jewelry. Let others think whatever they want. What is important is you know who you are! Wear that choker with confidence and pride, because no one got the right to judge you unless they are perfect! Fun Facts: Three famous royalties recorded in the history that was seen wearing choker on their portraits are Queen Anne Boleyn, Queen Victoria, and Princess Alexandra of Denmark. Now boys who said only sluts wear chokers! For reference, please visit: www.goldenagebeads.com

Never knew those facts about the choker before. I found it quite interesting. Though I am not a lover of choker, I don't think I would let it deter me should I choose to wear one.

I don't quite understand why you aren't comfortable talking about something as natural as sex, but I can dig it. Interesting facts about the choker. So many double meanings in life.

I remember when they were big in middle school, but I knew they meant that so I didn't wear them.

Interesting. While I am very happy I live in a society where most people don't really care what you wear, it is good to stay updated on any connotations a piece of clothing or accessory might have. Thanks for sharing!

An interesting read though this information isn't new to me. I love to wear cholera and will always do so in part because I enjoy the way they look and feel on me. They also symbolize a part of my personality which isn't a sl*t but rather a submissive person. It's not an invitation so much as an acknowledgement of who I am. In the end I believe any accessories we chose for ourselves should always be more about their meaning to the wearer than the observer. Thanks for putting this out there.
